The American Dream
I found this essay to be very enjoyable. It did wasn't written in a conventional format, utilizing bolding as to amplify the paragraph's topic. What's more interesting is the later realization that the bolding in each paragraph can actually form a sentence in itself. Furthermore, as a foreigner to the country, I have a similar perspective as this essay's protagonist has. The idea of cultural difference or racial insecurities; I understand, to an extent, where the writing was coming from.
It was noted by a fellow classmate that the paragraphs were separated similar to how poems separate paragraphs therefore making them stanzas. I don't actually understand that but that was said and I thought it was interesting.
The American Dream by Angela M. Balcita is an interesting piece written with progressive format. As the story develops, you can see, visually, the structure of the essay develops and pairs with the content.
